HUMAK University of Applied Sciences, the University of Bedfordshire, and the University of Tartu, Viljandi Culture Academy, have successfully applied for funding from the European Union Lifelong Learning/Erasmus Program to develop a new joint degree programme in youth work. The project was launched in December 2008 and will continue till December 2011.

HUMAK is the coordinating organisation and the financial administrator of the project. However, the contents and the substance of the programme have been produced and implemented in close cooperation with the partner universities.

HUMAK has created an intranet system (Humak pro) with a development tool and a distance learning platform as well as tools for administrative communication. Together with the intranet system the partners use video conferencing in order to develop and implement the degree. In teaching and counselling of students long-distance teaching methods such as the Moodle-environment are used.
